*A biopic on the true story of baseball legend Hank Aaron reportedly is slated to be produced by Oscar-winner Mike Tollin.

During a meeting with actor Baron Jay Littleton – who has worked with him on television’s Wedding Band – Tollin mentioned all the projects he was working on that fit Baron’s essence. Baron wants Tollin to know he will make a great Hank Aaron and believes the Hall of Famer will concur. Baron’s friend Brad Hilton of the famed Hilton family said, ‘Baron Jay will be the perfect Hank Aaron.’

Tollin’s career highlights include Radio, Coach Carter, and Varsity Blues. He frequently collaborates with Brian Robbins in which they own a production company together called Tollin/Robbins Productions. They created and produced such shows like All That, The Amanda Show, Kenan & Kel, One Tree Hill, Smallville, What I Like About You, The Bronx is Burning, Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream and a few others.

Tollin also produced the weekly highlights show for the United States Football League, the springtime football league which played from 1983 through 1985. In 2009, he served as executive producer for the hour-long documentary Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL? for ESPN‘s 30 for 30 series. He was also part of a number of the series films, as one of the production members.

Baron (the name he prefers) notes some coincidences about he and Aaron (aside from rhyming first and last names): He was born the year Aaron retired; Aaron’s success on the football field led to several football scholarships which he turned down to pursue a career in professional baseball – Baron’s success in the N.J.R.O.T.C. led to several military scholarship offers which he turned down to attend Michigan State on a caddy golf scholarship from the Western Golf Association and was a walk-on football player; both he and Aaron were affiliated with Major League Baseball clubs – Baron was a Bat Boy for Major League Baseball via the Detroit Tigers. He is hoping for a home run in landing the part.

Baron, who will be appearing in the upcoming spoof ‘Not Another Celebrity Movie,’ has his hands in many things. His current plans are to produce a reality-based game show he created called ‘Battle of the Minds,’ and is seeking the right partnership.

Aaron who lost the title of all-time most home runs to Barry Bonds, now owns Hank Aaron BMW of south Atlanta where every car is sold with an autographed baseball.
