What’s The Deal With Performance Radio Royalties?
Death Of A Pop Star
I was on the phone with a friend at a record label a few weeks ago talking about album sales, to his amazement he didn’t know why the new David Banner and 9th Wonder album “Death Of A Pop Star” was not selling. My first reaction was, “David Banner has a new album?” Then I heard the first single featuring Ludacris, “Be With You” and was like oh shit a fucking classic. But I do know why he isn’t selling. Why? His current label might have missed the fact that this album is unlike anything Mr. Banner has ever done. His core fans will be lost with this real hip hop project with Banner flowing over beats by the legend 9th Wonder. If you are a real fan of hip hop, go buy this album, which is spiritual from beginning to end and might scare some people because Banner speaks some shit that everyone else is afraid to discuss.
From the first track on the album, “Diamonds On My Pinky” DB spits a line that made me play it over and over …”I’m from Mississippi where you let your nuts hang, and where the white folks let my ancestors do the same.”
Enough of my words… go to your local store if you’re still into CD’s or download the album from itunes by clicking below.

Best of 2010
2010 was a year of change in popular music, and for better or worse, the most memorable news stories of the year reflected the rise and fall of many of music’s biggest stars. Eminem’s comeback returned him to the top of hip-hop, while T.I. failed to leave his legal troubles behind. Justin Bieber’s music met with big success, but M.I.A.’s met with disappointment. As young starlets like Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato had trouble growing up in the spotlight, Taylor Swift soared past expectations at the Grammys and on the Billboard 200. Check out our time capsule of 2010′s biggest news stories, and tell us which ones you’ll remember the most in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
